Tackle enery poverty in Europe
29-6-2023
How can we effectively address energy poverty with an innovative neighborhood approach and collective sustainable renovation? Debbie Mous from Ekiep and Doris de Bruijn from SlimRenoveren are working on this question. This project is part of an EU program called Life and is conducted in collaboration with five Italian and French organizations.
After conducting desk research and interviews in the Netherlands a workshop was organized with several experts in this field. This has resulted in a first version of a promising process; the Neighborhood Energy Compass. It became evident that addressing energy poverty requires a specific approach and communication style. A dedicated social worker, who is already in contact, is crucial for instance.
Projectpartners will set up several pilots over the next few years to test the findings and improve the new method.
